ABOUT THE BAND
The Screen Gems are a 4 piece band formed by David Barrett singer/songwriter & guitarist with Andy"Bones" Shaw on sax
They have invented their own style of music taking a jazz influence and mixing it with rock/pop writing.
For gigs, they include some covers alongside their own material from artists such as Sting/Cab Calloway/ The Doors/ The Temptations/Ray Charles and Prince to name a few. The covers are chosen to reflect the style. You can catch the Screen Gems on the street when they go busking!
Surrey-based they are playing gigs locally, big events have been The Surrey Blues Festival and The Guildford Beer Fest. Their first recorded track is Little Black Book which illustrates their style to full effect, based around a jazz baseline the song tells a little story with Andy's sax lines embellishing the tune beautifully.
Currently, the band are just preparing to release the song on Apple Music/ Spotify and the other online stores.
